Applying

Exchange application deadlines:

Second Friday in January - For exchange in semester two
Second Friday in July - For exchange in semester one of the following year

Late applications may be considered.

Step 1 - Check your eligibility

You may be eligible to go on exchange if:

  • You have an academic progression status of green;
  • You have a minimum WAM of 50*;
  • You have no administrative or academic encumbrances; and
  • You are an undergraduate student who has completed at least 120 credit points; or
  • You are a coursework postgraduate student who has completed at least 60 credit points.

* Some exchange partners may have higher WAM requirements.

Step 2 - Select a Partner Institution

Choose an overseas institution that you wish to study at.

Step 3 - Submit Exchange Student Application form

Complete and submit a Student Exchange Application form, making sure you understand and accept the conditions of participating in the Student Exchange Program.

Step 4 - Obtain Overseas Study Credit Approval

As part of the application your Course Coordinator will need to approve the units you plan to enrol in at the overseas partner using the Overseas Study Credit Approval form. It is your responsibility to research the units offered at the partner institution and provide any documentation necessary to your ECU Course Coordinator for approval. Ultimately, ECU Course Coordinators approve the final study plan for the exchange period, thus ensuring that credit goes towards your ECU degree. The Overseas Study Credit Approval form must be submitted in order for you to be formally approved to go on exchange but may be submitted at a later date to your application form.
