Peer Skills Advisers

What is the Peer Skill Adviser (PSA) service?

The PSA service is a FREE academic support program for students.

The PSA team are friendly, experienced students who can help you with your studies and assignments. They are available for quick (< 10 minutes) questions, such as:

  • How to get started at ECU: Chat about student life and what support and strategies can help.
  • Study skills and tips: We study too, get insider information on time management, balancing work and study, and exam preparation.
  • Academic support: A how-to on starting assignments, breaking down rubrics, and finding quality resources.
  • Academic Skills Resources: What they are and where to find them.
  • Academic writing.

We know the services at ECU and can refer you to who you need.

Note that Peer Skills Advisers are here to help with your study skills, but they can't proofread your assignment for you or provide detailed feedback. Your PSA may help you book an appointment with a Learning Adviser if they think you need more support than they can provide.

Ways to get involved?

You can get support with all units on all days. No appointment needed. Select a campus to find the Peer Skills Advisers timetable for that location.

The PSA Team also has a dedicated MS Teams Online chat room that operates between 10am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. Log-in to your ECU student MS Teams account and access the MS Teams Online chat room.
