Generative AI in Learning

Developing skills in using artificial intelligence (gen AI) tools appropriately is an increasingly important part of being a successful university student. This page outlines all the support that’s available for ECU students to learn how to use gen AI responsibly.

Self-access resources

ECU students can access a range of resources on Canvas that offer guidance on using these tools. In alignment with ECU’s Ethical Framework, these resources include:

  • advice on how to use gen AI for learning and demonstrating academic integrity
  • practical prompt strategies for obtaining meaningful feedback
  • guides for correctly attributing AI-assisted work

Drop-ins

For additional support with gen AI tools, students can access the  Academic Skills Drop-Ins page for information about our gen AI drop-in sessions. The face-to-face and online sessions do not need to be booked. For more details on how to join the online session, please visit “How to Join Online”.

Workshops

ECU also offers workshops on Understanding MS Copilot and Generative AI Tools. Make sure you check the dates and register; if you miss a workshop, recordings are available on the ECU Library website.
