Welcome to ECU’s Research Intranet. Designed for our growing research community, the Research Intranet is your gateway to research-related information, news, resources and support. It includes the Graduate Research website for research students and our Research Services website for research staff, industry and community partners.

Higher Degree by Research

For Research students

ECU Graduate Research together with Graduate Research Services provides support and development services, including face-to-face and online training, seminars, academic events and social activities, all aimed at enhancing the quality of the research experience for Master by Research and Doctoral candidates, their supervisors and schools.

Our students have ranked us highly in both national and international surveys of student satisfaction. This website provides information for research students, supervisors and research support staff.

Research Services plays a key role in building ECU's research profile. This includes identifying and developing research opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships and promoting ECU research initiatives.

Research Services also provides ECU’s research program with strategic and operational support and facilitates commercialisation opportunities. Our website provides information for research staff, industry and community partners.

Research and International Compliance Obligations

University researchers, both staff and students, should be aware that they are required to consider and adhere to legislative and other requirements (“International Compliance Obligations”) when undertaking research and when engaging with foreign individuals and entities in relation to research. Research ethics

The conduct of research activities involving human or animal participants is governed by ethics guidelines contained in legislation and policies.

The Research Ethics Team assists staff and students to ensure that their research complies with guidelines and legislation, protects research participants and animals and encourages research that is, or will be, of benefit to the community.

Our website provides information about research ethics committees, policy and legislation, using REMS and applying for and managing your ethics approval.
