Pass Program

What are Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)?

PASS is a FREE academic support program for students.

PASS provides all students enrolled in the unit with a friendly, focused and active learning environment where you work together to better understand unit content.

PASS sessions are led by a second or third year student who has successfully completed the unit with high marks. Sessions focus on integrating course content (what to learn) with critical thinking and study skills (how to learn).

Why get involved?

Think of PASS as super-charged group study! Research shows that students who attend 5 or more PASS sessions achieve better marks than non-participating students.

Participating in PASS helps you to:

  • Improve your overall academic performance
  • Improve your understanding of unit content
  • Study more effectively
  • Connect with students doing the same unit

Who is eligible for PASS?

All students who are enrolled in a PASS-supported unit are eligible for PASS. PASS sessions are normally held from week 2. No need to register, just sign up at the session. Check the PASS Canvas site for timetables and room numbers.

If you are an online student in a PASS-supported unit, check the PASS Canvas site for online session times and links. Online students are also very welcome to attend face-to-face sessions on Joondalup, Mount Lawley or Bunbury campuses.
