Respect in Practice: Preventing gender-based violence

Join us for a free, interactive workshop to explore what gender‑based violence can look like in a university setting, why it happens, and how it’s shaped by social and cultural factors on and off campus.

Together, we’ll unpack what healthy, respectful and safe relationships look like, including consent, and how students can look out for each other in everyday uni life. You’ll also learn practical ways to be an ethical bystander, and how to respond with care, compassion and respect if someone opens up to you about an experience.

Content warning:
This workshop includes discussion of gender‑based violence, consent, and experiences of harm. The session is trauma‑informed and support information will be available. You’re encouraged to take care of yourself and step out at any time if needed.

NOTE - You will receive an email before the day to confirm the exact location of the workshop.
