Fees and Charges

We are primarily a student support service, so we aim to keep our services FREE or LOW COST to our students.

Students

Currently enrolled students of ECU, ECC or North Metro TAFE will be billed as follows for consultations with the general practitioner (GP):

  • Medicare Card Holders: If you are an ECU enrolled Australian resident student with a current Medicare card your doctor’s fee will be bulk billed to Medicare where possible.
  • OSHC Members: If you are an international student with OSHC Medibank, AHM, Allianz or BUPA doctor’s fee can be direct billed to your OSHC fund.
  • OSHC Members: International students with other funds including CBHS and NIB will be charged private fee which is payable on the day. We will provide you with a receipt so that you can claim more than 95% of the fee back from your fund.
  • ECU staff, visitors and public patients are billed by private account and are required to pay on the day of consultation.
  • Patients who are the children of ECU students (under the age of 18/still in school) will be treated as ECU students (i.e. bulk billed or direct billed to the OSHC fund where eligible).
  • Partners of ECU students are charged a discounted private fee and are required to pay on the day.
  • We can submit your receipt to Medicare on the day and usually your rebate will be in your bank account with 24-48 hours.
