Community support services

ECU encourages all students affected by gender-based violence, including sexual assault and sexual harassment, to seek support in a way that feels right for them. We understand that some may prefer to access help outside the university, so we’ve included a list of trusted community support services for you.

Community support services

Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) provides a 24-hour, seven days a week emergency counselling and medical service in metropolitan Perth.

Yorgum provides counselling for Aboriginal children and adults of all ages who have experienced family violence or child sexual abuse. Available Monday to Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm

1800 RESPECT is a counselling, information and referral service for all Australians. It is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week to support people impacted by sexual assault, domestic or family violence and abuse.

Crisis Care provides after-hours response to child safety and wellbeing, and accommodation assistance and support services for those experiencing family and domestic violence – 1800 199 008.

eSafety Commissioner is Australia’s independent regulator for online safety, helping people who are experiencing image-based abuse and adult cyber abuse.

Lifeline provides 24 hour crisis support to those experiencing emotional distress – 13 11 14
