ECU provides support for current students who are members of the ADF or Emergency Services.
ECU values the courage and commitment of our Australian Defence Force (ADF) and our Emergency Services members. ECU provides support for current students who are members of the ADF or Emergency Services.
We understand that at times, there may be conflicts between your study aspirations and commitments to the ADF or Emergency Services. We want to support students being able to successfully integrate their studies while committing themselves to their service roles. Students who are members of these services, may be able to negotiate their study options related to enrolment and assessment requirements.

Special Consideration can also be applied to students who are service members where their circumstances meet the eligibility requirements for this provision.
ECU defines ADF members as active, reserves, cadets, and veterans.
Emergency Services members are defined as as volunteers from Bush Fire Services, Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services, Marine Rescue WA and State Emergency Services involved in active incidents.
Students can provide a supporting letter from their organisation confirming their member or volunteer status via email to studentsuccess@ecu.edu.au.
Once the membership has been confirmed, students can contact their unit coordinator direct to discuss any study adjustments.
Students can meet with our Student Success Advisers to discuss any extensive study support or other support they may require.
