Partnership with Dress for Success

ECU has partnered with Dress for Success to support students in developing their readiness for employment.

We’re excited to offer our students a styling session and clothing for a job interview (valued at around $200) with Dress for Success, plus access to their services to learn from recruitment specialists and industry representatives through their Going Places Career Program.

This partnership will help our students to gain relevant strategies, knowledge and experience to enhance their employment opportunities.

What is Dress for Success?

Dress for Success is a registered charity that empowers women to obtain economic independence by providing them with work-appropriate attire, job support mentoring, access to career development workshops and a supportive network to enable them to move forward and achieve self-sufficiency through gainful employment.

How do I sign up?

We’re extending the invitation to participate in this program to our female students, including all cis and trans women, and non-binary people comfortable in women’s spaces.

The program is intended for our current students from designated equity groups, including:

  • students from low socio-economic background
  • students who are victim-survivors of family and domestic violence
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students
  • students with a disability or ongoing illness
  • students with significant caring responsibilities
  • students from rural or regional area of Australia.

Students will also need to either attend a one-on-one session with an ECU Careers Advisor or attend an employability workshop with the Careers and Employability Service before applying for the program.
