While on campus there are various ways you can connect to the University network, apart from the network connection at your desk.
Snap2ECU ports are located in all the teaching spaces and eLabs, and are identified by the Snap2ECU logo.
To access the ECU website and intranet with a Snap2ECU port, simply connect your computer to the port using a network cable. If you want to access the internet or any other ECU resources you’ll need to connect using a VPN connection. See the 'Connecting remotely to ECU' page for more information on VPN connections.
The wireless network
There are three wireless networks on campus which give you access to the ECU website, the intranet, the internet and other ECU resources:
|ECU||This is the easiest to use and safest wireless network as it sends data over an encrypted network. Once connected to the ECU wireless network with your ECU login ID and password, you can access the internet and intranet.|
You can use this network if you have an older device which does not support encryption and ECU login IDs.
You'll have to use a VPN connection to access the internet if you connect to the ecu-access wireless network. For information on how to connect to the ECU VPN, please see the 'Connecting remotely to ECU' web page.
|eduroam||This wireless network can be used by visitors from other educational institutions to connect to the internet whilst on an ECU campus. See the eduroam page or the relevant guide below for more information.|
To connect to one of the ECU wireless network services follow the instructions in the applicable setup guide below.
