Emergency / After Hours

For life threatening medical emergencies

In case of emergency always call 000 for an ambulance, police or fire brigade.

If you are on campus – you can also call Security on (61 8) 6304 3333 for assistance until the ambulance arrives.

For non-life threatening medical assistance

ECU Security

If you are on campus, call ECU Security on (61 8) 6304 3333 for assistance.

Security officers are trained to a Senior First Aid level and will respond to your call 24 hours a day. They will be supported by staff from the ECU Health Service where available. Security Services do not have the resources to convey persons to hospital or home but will assist you to make these arrangements.

After hours, urgent care and home doctor visits

If you are unwell or injured after hours, please contact one of our partner providers and they will assist you with an after-hours and urgent care consultation, a home visit, or a telehealth consultation.

Please note, private fees may apply to these services.

Mental Health Care

Out of hours crisis line for ECU students

Call 1300 583 032 or text 0488 884 232

This phone support service operates from 4.30pm to 8.30am on weekdays, and 24 hours on weekends, providing students with mental health and well-being support.

The service is intended to help callers find immediate relief from emotional distress, explore coping strategies for the current crisis.
