Workshop Series: The ADHD Group – Developing Skills and Making Connections

Struggling to stay focused, manage time, or feel connected? You’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out alone either.

Join our ADHD Group, designed specifically for university students navigating the unique challenges of studying with ADHD. Each session is a safe, welcoming space where you will:

  • Learn practical skills (first 30 minutes)
From organising and time management to managing emotions and having difficult conversations – gain tools that actually work for ADHD brains.
  • Connect & Share (second 30 minutes)
Chat with fellow students who get it. Share experiences, swap strategies, and build meaningful connections in a relaxed, judgment-free zone.

There are five sessions in total – four weekly sessions and a follow-up session a couple of weeks later.

Be sure to register through the Trybooking link for each session you would like to attend, as there is a maximum of 15 students per session and it’s likely to fill up quickly.

Session 1

Hello, welcome, let’s talk about all things ADHD and uni life! We’ll talk about how ADHD may impact uni life and what supports are available at ECU. We’ll also get you started on building (or enhancing) your own skills and resources.

Session 2

This week is about ADHD and our feelings, especially the difficult ones! The feelings we have and how we can manage them well.

Session 3

Let’s talk all things planning, organisation and getting started – essential for success at uni! This workshop will introduce you to strategies to get organised. Additionally, we will talk through the barriers that so often get in the way of organisation in action.

Session 4

How to have difficult conversations. Whether it’s at uni, or with friends or family, expressing how we feel can be challenging. Here we will explore how to ask for what we want and (just as important) how to say no!

Session 5

Let’s catch up to see how things are going, what’s working well, what’s not, and what comes next.
