Get Career Ready - Middle Years Checklist

Your career development opportunities are available every day of university.

Now that you’re mid-way through your learning journey, you may already be looking beyond your time as a student.

The Careers and Employability team is here to help you develop and recognise your employability skills throughout your degree. Putting together the building blocks so you’ll be ready for employment when you graduate. Please consider the following pointers to start building your career knowledge.

Connect to industry using your LinkedIn profile.

Log-in to CareerHub and work through the 'Know Your Market' module.

Work Integrated Learning provides work placement opportunities as part of your studies to enhance your employability and build on your network.

Apply for virtual work experience and internships to develop and showcase your skills.

Vacation Programs

Apply for a paid summer or winter vacation program, usually 4 to 12 weeks in duration, especially designed for students in their penultimate year of their degree to gain experience during the university break.

Just two examples of the many vacation programs available across multiple study disciplines are Water Corporation and PWC Vacation program.
