Nomination of supervisors

Changing or adding supervisors to the supervision panel that will oversee the Candidate's studies can be done by completing the HDR Change to Supervision Panel Form. This form can be completed by the Candidate or Principal Supervisor. All supervisors listed on the panel must be registered on the University’s HDR Supervisor Register maintained by Graduate Research Services (GRS) and must be compliant for their allocated role. To make changes to the supervision panel, follow these steps:

  1. Discuss the proposed change to the supervision panel with your Candidate.
  2. Complete the HDR Change to Supervision Panel Form.
  3. Ensure approval has been provided by the Candidate, yourself (the Principal Supervisor), and the School’s Associate Dean (Research). Please note that the supervision load and funding percentage across the Supervision Panel needs to add up to 100%.
  4. Submit the approved form (with all signatures) online via the Change to Supervision Panel Submission Portal.
  5. GRS will process the change request. Please note that the request will not be processed if the form is incomplete, incorrect, or if any supervisors are not registered on the ECU HDR Supervisor Register or not compliant for the nominated supervisor roles nominated.
  6. GRS will update the supervision panel on the Candidate’s record, and a confirmation of the updated supervision panel will be emailed to the Candidate and members of the new supervision panel.
