Engagement and Impact Assessment (EI)

EI is an initiative of the Federal Government to assess how well researchers are engaging with end-users of research and Australian universities are translating their research into economic, social, environmental, cultural and other impacts. EI is administered by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and is a companion program to ERA.

The inaugural round of EI was in 2018, and the next evaluation was scheduled to occur in 2024.  However, following the cancellation of ERA-2023, the ARC notified universities in December 2022 that EI would also not be proceeding. Further information is available on the ARC’s EI 2024 website.
