Drone / UAV Activity

All Drone / Unmanned Aeriel Vehicles (UAVs) used as part of an ECU activity must follow CASA requirements and go through the relevant ECU approvals.

  • *All* drone use as part of ECU activities must be approved by the ECU Chief Pilot listed on our CASA Registration. Approval forms are available on the website above.
  • Drone Use must comply with CASA requirements as well as the ECU standard operating procedures, summarised on the web page above.
  • A risk assessment for the activity must be conducted and approved by the responsible Manager/Supervisor in the School/Centre (Riskware reference #1582 can be used as a template).
  • The person piloting the drone / UAV must have the relevant licenses and registrations.
