Employee Assistance Program

Employee Assistance Program

All staff have access to a free and confidential counselling service to discuss work-related or personal issues. The program is also open to immediate family living in the same household.

This is a totally confidential service provided to ECU by Optum Health and Technology (formerly PPC Worldwide), an independent organisation. Optum can provide phone, face-to-face or online support.

A wide range of information and tools is accessible on the Optum Live and Work Well website (See Also).

Making an appointment

To make an appointment, contact Optum and advise that you are from ECU, then arrange a suitable time and location.

Office hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. However Optum counsellors are available out of hours for face-to-face and booked telephone sessions.

If you are in urgent need of assistance, you can call Optum at any time and ask to speak to a counsellor straight away. They have people ready to take calls 24 hours a day.

Optum are located at 251 Adelaide Terrace, Perth, with 10 suburban locations from Joondalup to Mandurah and Bunbury surrounds. 


Please provide 24 hours' notice to cancel an appointment.

Manager hotline

The Manager hotline provides managers and supervisors access to a helpline for support and advice on people-related issues. This service is available by calling 1300 361 008, or through the Optum Live and Work Well website.
