Thesis submission

During the examination process, you may be required to submit your thesis more than once, depending on your final outcome. Below details the process for your initial submission.

For more information on resubmitting your thesis following your initial thesis examination, please see the relevant After examination webpage.

Prior to submitting your initial thesis

Before you submit your initial thesis, you must have:

  • Submitted your Nomination of Examiners form.
  • Received a link to SharePoint in your ECU student email. This link, sent by Research Assessments upon receipt of your Nomination of Examiners form, is where you'll upload your initial thesis.

Submitting your initial thesis

Follow the below steps to submit your initial thesis for examination:

  1. Thesis Declaration
Make sure you have signed the declaration in your thesis as per Guideline: HDR Thesis Preparation.
  2. Thesis Upload
Upload your initial thesis/exegesis directly to your unique SharePoint link provided in your ECU student email account which is capable of handling large files up to 10GB.
  3. Complete Form
Complete the “Initial Thesis Submission Form” with your supervisor.
  4. Email to Research Assessments
Email your completed “Initial Thesis Submission Form” to Research Assessments at researchassessments@ecu.edu.au.

Once Research Assessments receives your emailed submission form and uploads your initial thesis, you will receive a confirmation email to your student email account. If you do not receive confirmation within five (5) business days or encounter issues with uploading your initial thesis, please contact Research Assessments.

You may request that the initial thesis be returned if:

  • a confidentiality agreement has been established which covers material contained in the thesis; or
  • original drawings, illustrations or diagrams contained within the document are not easily reproduced.

During the examination process, you and your supervisors should not attempt to contact the examiners.
