Funding for Distinguished Visiting Fellowships

Applications for this initiative are now open for ECU researchers seeking to build research collaboration and enhance their current and future research activities.

Funding is available for up to two Distinguished Fellows to visit ECU in 2024 and support quality research collaboration by bringing national and international research leaders to our campuses.

Expressions of Interest are invited from ECU researchers seeking to host a Distinguished Fellow to a maximum value of $20,000 to visit ECU for a minimum of two weeks.

For further information, refer to the Distinguished Visiting Fellowship Guidelines.  The closing date for the expression of interest is Monday 8 April 2024.

ECU Distinguished Visiting Fellowships grants awarded for 2024

The 2024 Distinguished Visiting Fellowships scheme seeks to enhance ECU’s research environment and culture and facilitate collaboration through hosting outstanding researchers from interstate and overseas academic institutions. Eleven applications were received from six schools seeking up to $20,000 in travel support for the visiting fellow.  Distinguished Visiting Fellowships have been awarded to:

Medical and Health Sciences

Professor Inigo Mujika, University of the Basque Country, Spain

Professor Mujika is a distinguished physical activity and sports scientist specialising in physiology and performance in professional cycling, swimming, running, rowing, triathlon, tennis, football (soccer and rugby), and water polo
