ECU takes a whole-of-institution approach to helping students transition into their first year of study, engage in their first year and successfully transition to further study. Within the curriculum, introductory units in undergraduate and postgraduate courses embed learning activities to support academic preparedness for study and build a sense of belonging to the course. Curriculum is designed to actively consider the needs and preparedness of students including embedding early assessment that provides formative feedback to students; and, ensuring students receive timely feedback that assists in their achievement of learning outcomes.
