Academic Governance and Standards provide support and advice in relation to course approval and administration of the Curriculum Approval and Publications System (CAPS), academic related policies and University Rules. This also includes the provision of executive support and services to the Academic Board and its sub-committees.

We manage the course approval process, including the quality and compliance review and approval processes for new and updated courses, units and unitsets.
Academic Governance and Standards plays a key role in the course approval process, providing quality and compliance into the development of new and revised courses, majors and specialisations. Our clients are academic staff, School staff, Associate Deans (Teaching & Learning) and the academic committees.
The staff ensure the course approval delegations are adhered to and advise colleagues about course and unit structures, quality requirements, documentation requirements, approval and publication timelines, and other matters relating to the development, review and archiving of courses, units and unitsets. We manage course approval timelines to ensure external reporting and publication dates are met.

The Academic Programs Adviser provides advice on academic programs and formulates and implements initiatives and support structures to deliver a dedicated support service to the School staff, to ensure the delivery of quality outcomes to students.
