Minor amendments (level i and ii pass)

Candidates will be required to make minor amendments before their thesis is ready to be passed. Research Assessments will send a letter and copies of the examiners’ reports, instructing you what to do next. Please note:

  • Amendments must be incorporated into the text of the final version of your thesis.
  • You cannot make any changes to your thesis not specified by the examiners (or implied in their reports).
  • You must list all changes required by the examiners and against each required change. You can either document what change has been made, indicating the relevant page numbers, or provide an academic argument why the suggested change is inappropriate.  You should sign this document and submit it to your supervisor, along with the final copy of your thesis and examiners’ reports for review.
  • You have six weeks to complete minor amendments. If, due to exceptional circumstances, this isn’t possible you can seek an extension from Research Assessments.

Once your supervisor has confirmed they are satisfied with your amendments, you are required to:

  1. Upload your thesis/exegesis directly to your unique SharePoint link in your ECU student email account which you used to upload your initial thesis submission.
  2. Complete the “Final Thesis Submission Form” with your supervisor and email your completed form to Research Assessments at researchassessments@ecu.edu.au.

Support

Revising your thesis for resubmission can be a daunting task. In addition to your supervisor, you may wish to seek support and advice from the research and writing consultants in the Centre of Learning and Teaching.
