The Destination Australia Cheung Kong Exchange Program is a joint funding initiative of the Australian Government and the Cheung Kong Group.
In Partnership with the Asia Oceania Five Universities Alliance (AOFUA) this program is offering ECU students an $8,000 grant to study on exchange for semester 2, 2024 at one of the AOFUA partners listed below:
- Tokyo City University - Tokyo, Japan
- De La Salle University - Manlla,The Philippines
- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology - Thammasat, Thailand
Furthermore, this program is also offering Inbound students from any of the above AOFUA universities a $4,000 grant to study on exchange at ECU for Semester 2, 2024.

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants - Semester length
The New Colombo Plan Mobility Program is an Australian Government initiative that provides funding to Australian universities to support Australian undergraduate students’ participation in study, internships, mentorships, practicums and research in 40 host locations across the Indo-Pacific region.
Students interested in student exchange may be eligible for a $7,000 grant to support their overseas study. An additional $1,000 is available to support participation in an internship before, after or during their time at the overseas University. ECU currently have grants available for the following countries:
- Singapore
- Japan
- China
- Philippines
- South Korea
Students will need to apply for the exchange place by contacting studyoverseas@ecu.edu.au or though the ECU Student Exchange website.

This program is offering ECU students a grant to study on exchange for semester 2, 2024 in an eligible county.
Furthermore, this program is also offering Inbound students from any of the eligibility countries, a grant to study on exchange at ECU for Semester 2, 2024.
Eligible countries include: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong), India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Republic of the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
New Colombo Plan Scholarships
The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake Internships in the region. The scholarship provides numerous benefits including a travel allowance, an establishment allowance, and a monthly stipend. Promotion and an ‘Expression of Interest’ form will be available from the ECU scholarship website.
