International Relations

The International Relations team supports Schools in developing and managing academic partnerships and the subsequent recruitment flow-on of International students to ECU.

The purpose of an academic partnership is to:

- enhance the learning experience of students, and the teaching and research experience of academic staff;
- to provide transnational pathways for international students, and to advance the internationalisation of education at ECU.

The University undertakes partnership relationships globally through a number of legal arrangements which include:

  • Memorandum of Understanding (to explore the possibilities of a partnership);
  • Articulation Arrangement (to establish the arrangement of mutual recognition of Academic credit between education institutions and promote the flow of students between institutions);
  • Transnational Agreements (to establish a partnership to jointly deliver ECU academic programs off-shore);
  • Agreements for Student Exchange & Study Abroad (to enable students to undertake studies at different institutions as part of their ECU degree);
  • Joint PhD Agreements.

An up-to-date list of the current agreements may be requested from International.Office@ecu.edu.au

For information on international research cooperation, contact the Research Services by email research@ecu.edu.au.
