How to create a video

Contact your Marketing Account Manager to start the process.

Add a video to the ECU YouTube channel

Complete the following form:

Email the video submission form, video file, and legal forms to online.marketing@ecu.edu.au.

Content should be suitable for public consumption and be relevant to the channel’s audience: prospective students and the wider community.

Content should:

  • Enhance, reflect and reinforce the University brand and brand model
  • Be representative of the University and the calibre of its courses, students, staff, support services, teaching and research
  • Raise the profile of the University and its activities across our prospective student audiences and the wider community
  • Enrich and support the University’s other recruitment activity

ECU should either:

  • Own the copyright of the video, or
  • Be granted a license giving permission for the content to be uploaded to ECU’s YouTube channel

Examples of suitable content (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Student testimonials
  • Student work
  • Presentations given by ECU researchers/research students, e.g. videos of ECU’s 3MT competition presentations
  • Guest Lectures at ECU events

See videos we’ve uploaded to the channel so far: https://www.youtube.com/user/EdithCowanUniversity/videos

Add a video to the ECU website

Before a video can be embedded on the ECU website, it must first be uploaded to the ECU YouTube channel.

If a video has already been added to the ECU YouTube channel, please see the WebCMS How-to guides and other resources webpage.

There may be instances where it’s not appropriate to upload a video to the ECU YouTube channel, see the list below for alternative hosting options.

YouTube: Centre for Learning & Teaching (CLT) administer an unlisted YouTube channel:

  • The link to the channel is not accessible, for reference it is http://www.youtube.com/ecuelearning
  • Videos uploaded to it can be public, however the channel page itself is not viewable.
  • Videos can be linked into ECU webpages and Blackboard. We suggest you contact the Centre for Learning & Teaching (CLT) to discuss your requirements: http://www.ecu.edu.au/centres/centre-for-learning-and-teaching
