Insurance

The Enterprise Risk Team is responsible for administering the University’s insurance program. This responsibility includes:

  • Purchasing of appropriate insurance coverage for ECU
  • Answering insurance related enquiries arising from University activities
  • Ensuring the regular review of ECU’s insurance coverage to reflect the University’s changing risk profile.

The University has a comprehensive insurance program protecting its students, staff and assets.

ECU currently holds the following types of insurances:

  • Property / Business Interruption
  • Public Liability (also called General Liability)
  • Medical Treatment Liability and Professional Indemnity
  • Workers Compensation
  • Student Personal Accident Insurance (including Work Experience and Voluntary Activities)
  • Corporate Travel Insurance for Staff and Students travelling on behalf of ECU
  • Hirers Liability
  • Motor Vehicle Insurance (Third Party Liability)
  • Workers Compensation
