Planning support

The ECU Strategic Plan, 2022-2026 - Towards the University of the Future, sets five strategic goals, building on our significant achievements of the last five years, and transitioning the University to achieve our vision for 2026.

Several whole-of-University supporting plans (linked below) provide a bridge between the ECU Strategic Plan 2022-2026 and ECU’s annual operating plans. The supporting plans provide a coordinated approach to achieve a broad range of objectives for relevant Strategic Priorities from the Strategic Plan. Progress against each supporting plan will be reviewed annually, with adjustments incorporated where necessary.

Operational plans

Operational plans guide the annual operations within each school and service centre and are endorsed by the relevant University executive line manager. In developing an operational plan, guidance should be taken from the ECU Strategic Plan, 2022-2026 – Towards the University of the Future and its five strategic goals, and incorporate the actions contained in all relevant supporting plans.

School/Unit/Team work plans

Many units and teams across the University develop detailed work plans that translate the activities of their School/Centre Operational Plan, into meaningful tasks to be undertaken at unit or team level.

Individual work plans

Individual work plans identify individual objectives and tasks aligning with the operational plan of the relevant school or centre. The individual plans are developed by staff members and their line managers and the process is overseen by People and Culture, which provides guidance and reference documents for staff and managers preparing individual work plans.
