As a merchant, ECU has legal responsibilities to ensure credit card data is handled in a secure manner. This responsibility is shared across all staff who handle credit card payments on behalf of the University.

Global Data Security Standards
ECU is obliged to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. The standards are a set of comprehensive requirements for enhancing payment account data security. They were developed by the founding payment brands of the PCI Security Standards Council, including American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard and Visa, to help facilitate the adoption of consistent data security measures on a global basis. We are committed to aligning our internal operations to meet payment account data security and FBSC plays a key role in ensuring this compliance.
