TEL spanning capable spaces are designed with pedagogy at the core. State-of-the-art technology and modern room aesthetics help students and staff achieve course and unit learning outcomes.
A spanned classroom is the simultaneous delivery of a teaching and learning lesson that takes place across two physical classrooms. The connected spaces enable seamless interaction between students and staff regardless of physical campus location.
The spanned session requires ECU’s timetabling to have pre-booked two or more ECU spanning enabled classrooms in advance to ensure they automatically turn on and connect with each other at the same time and remain linked for the entire duration of a scheduled class time.
The spanned classroom environment adheres to ECU’s commitment which is to integrate new technologies that enhance and support the teaching and learning experience.
Supported Learning Modes at ECU
Hybrid delivery, in which students participate both in class and online simultaneously, is not a supported learning mode at ECU. ECU supports five defined learning modes - On-campus, Mixed mode, Online, Work-based WIL, and Class/virtual WIL- each intentionally designed for different learning environments; refer to the support page Supported Learning Modes at ECU for further information.
