Technical Requirements

Technical requirements for using ECU learning technologies


  • Internet connection
  • Computer or mobile device (ideally with microphone and camera), capable of undertaking online activities and video capture.

Note: If you do not have access to this, see your School Operations Manager or designated School officer.


It is recommended that you install the latest versions of two internet browsers on your device to ensure the most reliable experience:

Chrome (for Blackboard Collaborate sessions)

Mozilla Firefox (for everything else)

If you are using a smartphone, ensure that you have applied all updates to your device. If you need support, follow these links to instructions for how to apply updates to Apple and Android.

Browser Checker - to check if your browser supports the most recent release of Blackboard Learn.


With exception to the following, the majority of learning technology applications are part of the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) or accessed via the Staff Portal.
