The Vice-Chancellor’s Learning and Teaching Awards are intended to encourage, recognise and reward excellence and achievement in all forms of teaching, and in innovations, initiatives and services that contribute in diverse ways to student learning.
Nominations open from Monday 27 May 2019 and close at 5pm on Friday 26 July 2019.
Please email nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5pm on Friday 26 July 2019.
There are 5 categories of Learning and Teaching Awards in 2019. Comprehensive Guidelines and Nomination Forms for each award category are available for download from the VC Staff Excellence Awards Page.
To begin the nomination process, you should attend a workshop, identify a mentor and contact your ADTL to request support for your nomination.
An award workshop will be held at Mount Lawley (June 10, 2-4pm) and Joondalup (June 17). Refer to the Staff Development Calendar for details and enrolment. Bunbury staff can email email@example.com individually to arrange discussions or as a cohort to book a suitable workshop time.
A national awards preparation workshop is also being held at UWA on June 10 from 9.30am to 12.30pm. This is an excellent opportunity to gain further insight into how to make your application stand out. The presenter has over 25 years demonstrated leadership in this area and is an experienced reviewer and assessor. More information is on the flyer under Downloads.
As the VC Learning and Teaching Awards align with the National Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) the same criteria are used for assessment. The rubric for evaluation is available under Downloads on this page.
Dr Lee Partridge, winner of a national award, who has previously assisted with the preparation of our national learning and teaching award applications, will be available for individual feedback sessions on Mondays between 9am – 4pm. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an appointment.
Contact Wendy Varcoe email@example.com for more information or clarification.
In addition to being able to view the Examples of Award Statements, the following previous award winners have offered to mentor nominees; Ken Robinson, Abigail Lewis, Mary Boyce, Jo McManus, Trevor Cullen, Robert Powell, Lorraine Hammond, Tim White.
