Look after your mental health this semester

Psychological Counselling Support have a range of workshops and groups to assist students with managing their mental health and building skills.

Starting a new semester, you may feel as though you need some support to manage stress when working on assignments, preparing for the exam period and maintaining a healthy study/life balance.

Upcoming Workshops

Introduction to Psychological Counselling Support
ECU provides free, confidential psychological counselling support  to all currently enrolled students residing in Australia to address any personal or mental health issues that impact their studies. Head to this seminar to find out about all the services offered by this team. Register to attend.

Empathy Without Burnout
This interactive workshop will introduce you, as a student, to the science of empathy and hands-on strategies to maintain and safeguard your ability to empathise while maintaining your wellbeing in the face of challenging emotional demands.

Anchor Yourself
Ahoy there! “Anchor Yourself” is a series of four workshops that aim to introduce strategies for helpfully managing the stress demands of student life. Each workshop will introduce a strategy focused on calming, grounding and being more present.

Assertive Communication
Learn how to communicate your needs and views in a positive way. Assertive communication helps us to express how we feel, and find win-win solutions where there is conflict. It can also help us become more self-aware and confident.

Groups

There's also a great ADHD Support Group. In this group you will have the opportunity to join with other students who have similar experiences to you, to learn more about how your brain works and to build up your strategies for overcoming common ADHD-related difficulties.
