Research area

Sharmeen is a PhD student in the School of Business and Law. Her research is about individual credit scoring through the perspective of social inclusion. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, credit restoration has become an emerging issue in Australia given the increasing number of consumers facing financial hardship and it is directly aligned with the Australian government’s long-term objectives for strengthening the financial sector, preventing specific layers of society from falling into financial insecurity, and improve or restore their credit standing. The research project aims to analyze the current market structure of individual credit score repairing in Australia and identify the social inclusion need through individual credit data analysis. A further focus of this research is to provide significant and original insights into the social characteristics of borrowers that can drive better credit outcomes.
