Become a SOAR Peer Adviser

Each semester the SOAR Centre employs up to 10 higher degree by research students as Peer Advisers (formerly Ambassadors).

Six great reasons to become a SOAR Peer Adviser

  1. Paid employment: Work one set day per week for up to 6 hours. Attendance at some training sessions may also be paid.
  2. Career development: Gain valuable employment experience at a university and in a customer service and support role.
  3. Personal development: Build your career portfolio and attend training in career development, interpersonal boundaries and cultural awareness.
  4. Building a research community: Meet new people, including candidates from other schools.
  5. Skill development: Build your existing research abilities and develop new skills by helping others.
  6. Represent ECU: As a Peer Adviser for research at ECU, you may represent the Centre for Learning and Teaching at functions such as school events, coffee mornings, orientation and more.

Appointments to the role of SOAR Peer Adviser are made for one semester, with an opportunity for a further semesters if vacancies are available.
