Research area
Hamed is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering. His research focuses on enhancing the efficiency of membrane distillation systems, with a particular emphasis on Vacuum Membrane Distillation (VMD) systems and their economic analysis. His goal is to improve the production rate of VMD systems by inducing turbulence in the feed water section and modifying the flow dynamics, thereby increasing water production while reducing energy consumption. Hamed’s work aims to provide valuable insights for designers looking to mitigate the high energy demands of membrane distillation systems and enhance their thermal efficiency. Additionally, his research explores the advantages and disadvantages of various distillation systems under comparable conditions. By conducting an economic analysis, he also seeks to calculate the water production cost of VMD systems, offering crucial insights into meeting water demand in residential areas.
Background
Hamed is an international student from Iran. He completed a BSc in Mechanical engineering and a MSc in Energy systems in Iran. Hamed was awarded the ECU Higher Degree by Research Scholarship to pursue his PhD degree in school of engineering. During his study, his has been engaging in many research projects and the outcomes have been published in ranking international journals. Outside of PhD research, Hamed is interested in reading books, gym and swimming.
