Become a SOAR Ambassador

Each semester the SOAR Centre employs up to 10 higher degree by research students as Ambassadors.

Six great reasons to become a SOAR Ambassador

  1. Paid employment: Work one set day per week for up to 6 hours. Attendance at some training sessions may also be paid.
  2. Career development: Gain valuable employment experience at a university and in a customer service and support role.
  3. Personal development: Build your career portfolio and attend training in career development, interpersonal boundaries and cultural awareness.
  4. Building a research community: Meet new people, including candidates from other schools.
  5. Skill development: Build your existing research abilities and develop new skills by helping others.
  6. Represent ECU: As an ambassador for research at ECU, you may represent the Graduate Research School at functions such as Research Week, coffee mornings, Induction and more.

Appointments to the role of Ambassador are made for one semester, with an opportunity for a second semester if vacancies are available.

How to apply

Applications for new ambassadors will open in January for semester 1 and June for semester 2. To apply, please visit the ECU Jobs Board and go to the ‘All Vacancies’ tab.
