Artificial Intelligence Literacy Resources for ECU Staff

The following AI literacy resources have been created to empower and enable all ECU staff in the productive and ethical use of AI, in line with the ECU Framework for the Productive and Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence and associated guidelines for curriculum, teaching and assessment, and research and research training. Engaging with these resources will increase your knowledge and skills with AI tools like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and more.

AI 101 Resource on Canvas

The AI 101 Resource is designed to get staff quickly up to speed with the essentials of generative AI. In this self-paced module, you’ll learn what generative AI is and how it works, consider important ethical questions raised by the technologies, and explore ideas for how to use generative AI in learning and teaching both ethically and effectively.

Explore AI Online Workshops

The Explore AI Online Workshops complement the AI 101 Resource by providing you with an opportunity to practice key AI skills through hands-on activities, learning generative AI techniques and skills you can apply to your work. Each workshop is 90 minutes long, and the series will repeat several times from June to Oct 2024.

AI Digest

The goal of the AI Digest is to keep ECU staff up-to-date with the latest developments in AI to inform teaching and research practice. In addition to providing information, this is a platform where you can actively participate in discussions about AI, exchange best practices and insights from your experiences, and discuss your application of AI tools in the context of ECU policy and ECU's Framework for the Productive and Ethical use of AI. Each bi-weekly issue will highlight practical uses, outline case studies, or provide tips to help you navigate this rapidly evolving phenomenon.

Visit the AI Digest on Viva Engage, click ‘Join’ and the ‘heart’ button to add it to your list of favourite communities. Once subscribed, you will receive Teams and email notifications when the digests are released.
