The Academic Practice Programs provide staff flexible and personalised pathways to engage in contextualised learning and evidence their capabilities in academic practice at a higher level. Staff self-select pathways in line with their academic role, development needs and career aspirations.
The Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (GCAP) is a fully micro-credentialed postgraduate award. It is designed to prepare and upskill ECU learning and teaching staff by engaging you with theoretical and practical knowledge and skills related to academic practice in the contemporary higher education sector. This course allows you to obtain a career enhancing qualification in a sustainable and flexible way through professional learning pathways and recognition of your professional experiences. Underpinned by an integrative learning approach, the course is designed to strengthen your understanding and application of learning and teaching theory and practice, with a focus on a scholarly approach to quality improvement with reference to relevant policies and frameworks for effective practice.
The Professional Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) is a fully micro-credentialed non-award program. A ‘lite’ version of the GCAP, participants can choose from most of the same selection of micro-credentials but does not include those focussed on the evaluation and scholarship of teaching and learning.
Graduates of the GCAP are also awarded a Fellowship from Advance HE.
Graduates of the PCAP are also awarded an Associate Fellowship from Advance HE.
