If you are a new student this semester, there is a lot to get your head around when you first arrive at university. Don't worry, here's a quick guide to some of the essentials for your first week.
Make sure you've enrolled in all your units, and taken a look at your timetable. Find out more about these processes.
Download some maps to navigate your way around the campus. Locations are described by their campus, building and floor and room number. JO31.440 would be Joondalup, Building 31, Room 440 - as the room number starts with a 4, it'll be on the fourth floor. In the City Campus there the added elements of either N or S in the numbering - which indicates if the room is on the north or south side of the building. If you're having trouble finding a room, just ask for some help.
Canvas is our learning management system. This system contains the learning materials for your course. Take your first steps with Canvas.
Get your Student ID card and combined TransPerth SmartRider at any of our eLab counters. This card will help you access buildings, printers and other resources. Find out how to get one.
For the Joondalup or South West campuses find out how to get a parking permit. At the start of semester the university campus will be very busy.
At the Joondalup Campus, the overflow parking in car park 20 on the corner of Grand Boulevard and Kendrew Crescent will also be available. All of ECU’s campuses are also easily accessible by public transport. Take a look at all the ways you can get to ECU.
Which books and resources you'll need for each unit you are studying is listed online, you can visit The School Locker stores on the Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses or head online to buy everything you'll need. Find out more.
The student portal is your gateway to the different systems and tools you'll use while studying at ECU. Log in, see the latest news, check your appointments and access Blackboard.
