On Monday 27 July, every phone in Australia will sound a loud test emergency alert. If you or someone you care about has a safe phone, here's what you need to know.
A safe phone is a phone or device, often kept separate from a person’s main phone, that someone uses may use if they are experiencing family and domestic violence. The ‘safe phone’ can keep them in contact with family, friends and/or support services. Because these phones are often kept hidden, a loud alert could risk exposing the phone and putting them at risk.
