National Careers Week 2026 runs from 11 May – 17 May, and ECU is celebrating with a series of events designed to help you explore new career pathways and prepare for the future of work.
This year’s theme, Connect. Create. Thrive., invites you to think boldly about where your skills can take you - from research to industry, from study to leadership, and from lived experience to advocacy.
Events will be hosted at ECU City Campus, ECU Joondalup Campus, and online.
One of the highlights of National Careers Week at ECU will be Meet the CEO.
This event will bring together four leading CEOs to share their candid stories of unconventional journeys to becoming a CEO, and to provide insights into emerging roles, future workforce needs, and how organisations are preparing for the jobs of tomorrow and the talent they seek.
The panel will include West Coast Eagles CEO Don Pyke, Hannah Mathews (CEO of the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts), Richie Paul (AI, Strategy and Transformation Leader at IBM Consulting), and Janine Wood (CEO, Co-founder and Chair of No Limits Perth).
With close to 20 events running over the week, there are many opportunities to explore. You can find sessions on writing resumes and cover letters, learn how to dress for job interviews, and get professional headshots taken.
There are also sessions on gaining work in government settings, starting a career in the screen industry, and levelling up your AI skills with the team from IBM.
