Top tips for eating well and staying healthy during the exam period

The exam and final assessment period can be a busy period of our lives. Fitting in study, lecturers, final assignments, revision and everything else in life can make us time poor.

To stay on top of it all we need to eat nutritious food and stay healthy. Here's some tips, resources and services that can help you stay in peak condition.

10 Tips for healthy eating on a budget

  1. Plan your meals for the week ahead and do all your shopping in one go.
  2. Weekend vegetable markets can be a great way to save.
  3. Buy what is in season.
  4. Make extra and then freeze individual portions for future meals.
  5. Buy whole foods, for example buy a block of cheese and grate it yourself rather than buying shredded cheese.
  6. Don't just shop at eye level, look down for cheaper brands.
  7. Look online for health recipe ideas.
  8. Try to add more vegetables wherever possible.
  9. Drink lots of water.
  10. Before buying something, ask yourself if its something you can make yourself from scratch.
