Exams can prompt a lot of questions about what happens if you miss an exam, fall ill on the day, or have two exams on one day. Here's the answers to some of the most common questions.
If you have missed your standard examination due to medical reasons or exceptional circumstance you can submit a Deferred Exam Application (Rule 4.70).
Your application must be submitted no later than three working days after the date of the examination (Rule 4.69.a) and must be accompanied by appropriate supporting documentary evidence.
If you are unable to submit your application within the required time frame due to unforeseen circumstances, you may still submit an application up until the closing date for consideration.
Please be advised that missing your examination due to misreading your exam timetable is not valid grounds for deferring your exam.

You should obtain a student ID card from the Multimedia counter at Joondalup, Mount Lawley or South West campus.
If you are an online (off-campus) student or an ES home-campus student, you must be able to show another form of photo identification to be allowed to sit your exam such as an Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card or passport.
If you have no identification and are sitting your exam on campus, you will be advised to go to The Hub to have your identification verified. You must do this prior to entering the examination venue and no extra time will be allowed if the examination has commenced.

It is not uncommon to have two exams scheduled in one day. You are expected to sit both exams, even if they are timetabled consecutively.
However, if you have two consecutive exams on the same day but on different campuses, you have the option to sit both exams at the home campus of your course. To pursue this option, please complete the Request to Sit Exam at Other Campus form and email it to ECU Assessments.
Should you have three (3) exams timetabled consecutively, please contact the Assessments and Student Records office as soon as possible.
Log on to SIMO and check to see if you have any in your schedule.
The final timetables for standard exams held in November and deferred exams which are held in December are made available to you via SIMO.

Not every unit has an exam, many just have a final assessment. Take some time to see what you need to do for each of your units It is your responsibility to check your own personalised final timetable, do not rely on fellow students for exam information.
