Support and Assistance for Students Impacted by Bushfires

The current bushfires are impacting many in our community. Edith Cowan University is committed to supporting our students affected by this crisis.

First and foremost, our thoughts are with those directly impacted. We understand that this may be a distressing time, and we are here to help in any way we can.

Psychological Counselling Support

Our counselling team offers support for any student who needs assistance. These services are confidential and free of charge. You can book an appointment by calling 6304 6706.

Academic Flexibility

We recognise that these events might impact your studies. If you are facing difficulties, please contact us. We will work with you to find flexible solutions, such as extended deadlines or alternative assessment methods.

Welfare support

ECU’s Student Success Team can provide advice and support regarding practical matters that may be affecting your ability to study. Feel free to book an appointment with them via your Student Portal

Out of Hours

There is a crisis Line for ECU students outside of business hours. Call 1300 583 032 or text 0488 884 232 to access this.

Please continue to follow official advice on www.emergency.wa.gov.au and call 000 in an emergency. ECU is in regular contact with relevant authorities and will continue to monitor the situation.

Your health and safety are paramount. Please do not hesitate to reach out for support or assistance.
