University Mental Health Day will be on Tuesday 2 May, and it is a time to stop and consider how we are all taking care of our mental health needs.
Look out for the Student Volunteers who will be walking about on each campus between 11.30am and 1.30pm handing out some tasty treats and sharing resources on mental health services both within and outside of the university.
On the Joondalup campus the Student Guild will be running a series of activities too.
Maintaining good mental health helps you to get the most out of your studies and puts you on the path to achieving academic success.
Studying at university can at times be a stressful and overwhelming experience so it's important to prioritise self-care practices such as regular exercise, healthy eating, and sufficient sleep to manage stress and promote positive mental health.
Seeking support from psychologists, learning advisors and lecturers can also be helpful in managing mental health concerns.
Head to the ECU Sport and Fitness Centre during Week 10 and take part in any of the fitness classes for free.
There is a wide range of Tip Sheets on managing your mental health that focus on some of the most familiar challenges faced by people while they are studying.
From tackling procrastination and battling through the winter blues, to the challenges of living with housemates, and the process of preparing for exams, a lot of different topics are covered.
Take a look at the whole series.
ECU provides a free, confidential counselling service to all currently enrolled ECU students to address any personal issues that impact on your studies.
Psychologists can provide you with emotional support, help you understand the problems you have and assist you to find innovative solutions and new ways of coping.
