The Student Success team are a specialist support team that delivers a range of services and coordinated programs designed to assist and maximise a student's opportunity for successful experiences at ECU.
We asked them for their top tips about what to focus on to keep your studying on track.
Have a plan
Study is incredibly rewarding but it’s important to be realistic about the time required. Make a plan for your study, work and home commitments. If you’re studying full-time, treat it like a full-time job. You should be spending 10 hours per week on each unit of study.
Ask for help
When challenges come your way, it’s really important to keep your end goal in mind. Think about why you started uni, where you want to be and then talk to an ECU staff member about how we can help you get there.
Find some downtime
Include some time for the things your enjoy and that help you relax. This will help you feel in control and able to tackle any assignment!
Believe you can do it!
Have confidence in yourself and your abilities, and know there is support when you need it. Take responsibility for your learning and engagement in your studies. Be proactive, ask questions and seek advice when you need to.
Staying on track to success means being organised and using the resources available to you. ECU has teams of people whose job it is to support and guide you to success! Ask for help when you need it – your time at university is all about learning.
