Tuesday, 13 September 2022

Tags:

The Australian Government has acknowledged the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and announced that a one-off national public holiday will occur on Thursday, 22 September 2022.

This will be marked as a ‘National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty the Queen’, which ECU will observe. This means that all work, classes and events will be suspended on this day and only limited services will be available, as with a standard public holiday.

Your unit coordinators are working to ensure there is minimal disruption to teaching, learning and assessment. They will advise you of alternative arrangements in the coming days. Check your email for announcements from your lecturers and tutors.

Please note the following services will be closed:

  • Student Hub
  • Health and Counselling Service (click here for information about out-of-hours assistance)
  • Student Administration
  • Learning Support
  • Kurongkurl Katitjin

The Library will be open from 10.00am to 5.00pm. However, there will be no e-Lab or AV support available.

The IT Service Desk will be open from 8.00am to 5.00pm and Security will remain on campus 24/7.

Please remember that in getting to and from campus, public transport services will be less frequent than on a normal business day.

Warm regards,

Professor Braden Hill
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students, Equity and Indigenous)
