One of the major strategic goals of ECU's Research Plan 2022-26 is to focus ECU's research in distinctive areas of nationally and internationally recognised excellence. ECU Strategic Research Institutes and Centres Program is one initiative to drive and support research excellence and focus at scale within ECU's research portfolio.
Following a robust selection process, ECU has decided to support the following two ECU Strategic Research Centres for a second funding term:
These two ECU Strategic Research Centres have a critical mass of very active researchers and were able to provide evidence that they are already producing excellent research outputs, attracting external research income, and have strong national and/or international academic recognition in their research field. Importantly, these two Centres also demonstrate unique placement and recognised contributions to their field of research outside of ECU and Western Australia.
