Blackboard is our centrally-managed and supported Learning Management System. It supports learning through a suite of online tools that enhance and extend the learning experience for our students, while providing some efficiencies for our teaching staff.

Blackboard also enables development of online spaces to support various communities of practice in our University. For example, we have sites that support cohorts of students involved in a particular course, and sites that allow all staff in a particular school to collaborate and communicate online.


You can access Blackboard (MyECU) through the Staff Portal.

To create a site within Blackboard, staff need to separately request access.


All issues should be directed to the IT Service Desk.
This includes issues such as:

  • the application is not responding; or
  • you are unable to access the application; or
  • or the application is presenting error messages.
